The summer holidays are great to relax and have fun with your family and we hope that many of you are able to get away for a holiday whether it is aboard or a staycation! However, 6 weeks can be a long time to fill to keep small people entertained and we obviously don’t want them to be glued to the TV or their tablet all day long. Not saying that it is wrong to do that as there are so many educational apps and programmes at the moment.

Some ideas of things to do in the school holidays to keep them entertained!

GET OUTSIDE!

This can be as simple as just playing out in your own garden or at the local park. Build a den, play frisbee or hide and seek.

In Surrey and West Sussex, we are blessed with lots of amazing places that are part of the National Trust such as Polesdon Lacey or Claremont as well as Hampton Court Palace, Reigate Hill, Wisley Gardens and more. So many places to explore and many of these places offer a good deal on family memberships. The kids can go wild climbing a tree, rolling down a hill or go on a nature hunt.

Simple and free you could go on a bike ride, fly a kite at the beach or simply splash in the paddling pool.

VISIT A FARM OR THEME PARK.

Fancy a treat day? Then head to one of our local Farms such as Bocketts Farms or Hobbledown Farm. If the kids are a bit older and like rides why not head to Chessington World of Adventures or Thorpe Park.

HEAD TO LONDON

We are so lucky to be so close to London and there is so much going on this summer up in the City:

  • Book a free ticket to the Sky Garden
  • Meet 50 lifesized dinosaurs at Jurassic Encounter
  • Play a ridiculously big game of Monopoly at Monopoly Lifesized
  • Track down some giant Lego wetland beasts at London Wetland Centre

  • Deface the Tate with the Mega Please Draw Freely

  • See the Northern Lights glow over Greenwich

  • Go to London Wonderground, the pop-up comedy, cabaret and kids festival.
  • Visit the Royal Air Force Museum, which is about to open a new 1km, 18-obstacle assault course called the Hercules, which boasts such joys as rope swings, ninja walls, monkey bars and cargo nets.

Head to Timeout to find out even more activities!

COME TO CAMP

Another way you can help your child stay active during the school holidays is by securing their place at our Gymnastics and Parkour Camps!  We don’t stop because school is out for the summer! At our camps, your child will have heaps of fun whilst learning gymnastics, trampolining and parkour.

We hope that you continue to enjoy the holidays – continue to stay safe and have fun!
