Firstly I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas, we would like to thank you again for all the love and support you have given to the Star-Tastic Family over 2021. The last 20 months have been challenging with COVID but your support and the commitment of your children has been unbelievable. The progress we’ve seen this year in all of our members has been fantastic despite everything.
This year has been the first where we have run camps throughout all the school holidays post lockdown. These camps were amazing, it was so great to see so many children having fun, being creative and progressing on a daily basis. I’m absolutely delighted that we have been able to run so many of these this year and have been able to use them to repay the tremendous faith shown in our club by so many members during some of the most challenging times our club has faced over the past couple of years. Once again, your support is what makes our club a family and we will always be so grateful for that. We will continue to run camps during every school holiday apart from Christmas in 2022, we look forward to seeing as many of our members as possible in these next year so keep an eye out for more information.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of our coaches. They make this club what it is, a fun, safe and progressive environment where everyone, regardless of ability, feels part of our Star-Tastic family. We have a fantastic team that has continued to grow and develop which is reflected in the progress all of our members have made.
At the end of November, we were able to host competitions again and we had such a fantastic couple of days of competitions at Rosebery School. I was amazed to see the progression of gymnasts and the confidence they had whilst performing. We have missed showing you all we have achieved in classes and look forward to much more in 2022.
We ran our first ever Parkour Chase Tag competitions, which was truly amazing! I didn’t realise it was going to be so exciting and gripping to watch and this will be a regular on our competition schedule going forward. We were treated to some dazzling displays on the trampolines full of jumps, twists, and somersaults also.
On the second day of the weekend, it was all about gymnastics as we hosted our Beam and Vault competitions. We invited gymnasts from both our school classes and our open classes and it was so good to see everyone competing again. For some children, it was their first-ever competition and so everyone went home with a participation medal and a HUGE smile on their faces!
We’ve also recently been able to return to National IGA competitions with two competitions in recent months. Every single Gymnast gave it their all at both events and it was absolutely clear that the work they put in during lockdown on zoom and in our holiday camps is paying off with Star-Tastic Gymnasts jingling out of the gym with medals galore!
So finally, on behalf of everyone at Star-Tastic Gymnastics, from our family to yours, I want to wish you a very merry festive break and a Happy New Year. We’ll see you all again in 2022!
