Got a question? Here are so of our frequently asked questions. If you have a questions that isn’t here, please get in touch with us in the office.
How do I pay for Star-Tastic Gymnastics classes?
For our school-based classes these can be paid via card when enrolling onto the classes via ClassManager (our Booking System). Your place is only confirmed once full payment for the term is made.
What are your term dates?
The Star-Tastic Gymnastics classes that run exclusively for schools coincide with that schools school term timetable.
Where are you located?
We run classes at the following schools:
- Meath Green Infant School, Horley
- Meath Green Junior School, Horley
- Millias School, Horsham
- Reigate Priory Junior School, Reigate
- St Clements Catholic Primary School, Epsom
- Southfield Park Primary School, Epsom
- Danetree Primary School, Epsom
- Eastwick Infant and Junior School, Great Bookham
- Lime Tree Primary School, Merstham
Are your classes insured?
Our classes have full public liability insurance and all our coaches are personally insured as well.
Are your coaches qualified?
Our Head Coaches and Coaches are qualified with IGA and/or British Gymnastics. We encourage our youth gymnasts to try out some volunteer coaching and if they wish to coach when they are older we can mentor them through their training with IGA or British Gymnastics. If you would like to know more about coaching with Star-Tastic Gymnastics, please contact Stacey.
Can parents watch?
Parents cannot watch every lesson. We have found that gymnasts focus better without parents in the room. We invite parents to watch at the end of the term in our schools classes to see how much their gymnast has learnt.
What should my child wear for class?
Before and After School classes do not have to wear club clothing. We suggest sensible exercise clothing such as T-Shirt with leggings or short. Clothing must not be baggy and no jewellery.
We have T-shirts, vest tops, shorts and leotards that can be purchased if your child would like our club clothing and these can be purchased via our ClassManager Shop.
What are your Class Arrival / Departure procedures?
Parents must ensure that their child / children are taken to the door on arrival (for morning classes) and collection (for afternoon classes) for the lesson.
Once children are in Year 7 we do let them leave alone unless told otherwise. The Warm up is very important, try to be on time. If you are more than 15 minutes late you won’t be allowed to join in the session. This is for your child’s safety. Inform the coach at the start of a session if gymnasts are feeling ill or injured or if any medical conditions have changed.
Do you offer refunds?
Refunds will not be given for classes missed and classes will not be carried over or exchanged for any other class time or day for any reason.
We offer trial classes so that your child can check that they enjoy the classes. Once you have signed up for the term you are committed to that place and refunds will not be offered for any reason. If after the first class your child does not wish to continue we will refund the reminder of the term.
If your child has a break or serious injury at our gymnastics class then we may offer credit for next term as a gesture of goodwill. Unfortunately we cannot offer refunds or credit if your child is injured elsewhere or changes their mind or other personal commitments change.
Can we still join your classes after the term has started?
Of course!! Your child can start at any time throughout the term as long as there is space in the class. Every child is taught at their own pace and coaches will accommodate new starters.
What is your ratio of children to coaches?
We aim to have a 1:6 ratio (or less) in as many of our classes as possible. We try to keep are ratios of coaches to children is 1:8 as a maximum.
Every child will have 1-1 time in every lesson when badges are completed.
What happens if it is really bad weather?
Classes that have to be cancelled due to extreme weather conditions, School Closure or School’s Cancellation, Fire evacuation, or any other extreme unforeseeable circumstances will not be refunded although every effort will be made to re-arrange where possible. Credit may be carried over to next term at the discretion of the Head Coach.
What's your snow procedure?
The safety of children, parents and staff is our paramount concern and any decision to close the club is taken after considering all factors. The decision may be made by the club or by your school. If a school is closed the club will not run. We will endeavour to re-arrange the session missed with the school.
